Standard Responsibilities

  • Ebilling expert for the firm, which includes uploading invoices to various ebilling platforms
  • Process bills into the accounting system, including:
  • Processing accounts for final review and e-signature by lawyers
  • Finalizing and cancelling invoices
  • Processing partial credit notes and bill cancelations
  • Preparing and printing PDF monthly proformas for assigned lawyers
  • Answering all incoming billing related inquiries from Lawyer and Legal Assistant
  • Completing a variety of miscellaneous billing duties including writeoffs and transfers of work in progress (WIP), revaluing WIP due to currency fluctuations, setting up special rates on files and revaluing WIP, and updating timekeeper billing rates and revaluing WIP as necessary
  • Assisting with the yearend audit as required
  • Train new Legal Assistant hires on billing process and procedures
  • Provide assistance/backup support as required to others in the Accounting Department
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as required or assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience in a law firm or professional services environment considered an asset
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Commitment to privacy and ethical conduct with a strong ability to ensure all firm policies and control procedures are met
  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Selfstarter who is able to work independently and effectively with individuals at all levels within a teamoriented environment
  • Able to meet deadlines, work well under pressure and prioritize work

The typical salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 annually
; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal and market equity.
