Description

Mottola Grocery is looking for an experienced, capable and independent production cook to join our team. We are a chef driven grocery store located in Hargrave Street Market at True North Square.

Our goal is to provide our customers with the high-quality food they are accustomed to in all of our Academy Hospitality concepts as well as exceptional customer service and advice from our team of chefs.

Our production team is responsible for producing our line of house products, as well as executing a hot and cold table lunch buffet Monday to Friday, and assisting with catering in house and offsite events

Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards
Ensure proper food handling and storage procedures are followed
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations
Monitor inventory levels and communicate any needs to management

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years' experience in the food industry as a cook or similar role is required
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology
Strong understanding of food safety practices and procedures
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Ability to work independently within scope of role to complete daily duties and ensure food production remains on track
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects as needed
