    We're looking for a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our Global Payroll team. Reporting to the Regional Payroll Manager, you will handle payroll processing for approximately 1100 employees and will be responsible for a range of tasks from year-end activities to the administration of various benefits.

    What you'll be doing:

  • Process payroll for two companies across all Canadian provinces, including Quebec, for approximately 1100 employees.
  • Manage the entire payroll cycle from data entry to final payment, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations.
  • Administer employee benefits, including group insurance, RRSP contributions, and health and wellness programs.
  • Calculate and process Parental top-up payments and STD compensation.
  • Ensure accurate handling of stock-related transactions and commissions.
  • Issue Records of Employment (ROEs)
  • Handle year-end payroll activities including T4s, T4As, RL-1, RL-1 Summary, T2200, TP64 and other related tax forms and documents.
  • Perform PIER (Pensionable and Insurable Earnings Review) reconciliation.
  • Work closely with HR and finance departments to align payroll processing with overall company policies and updates.
  • Stay updated with the latest changes in payroll legislation and implement necessary adjustments to payroll processes and systems.
  • What you need to bring:

    We're a team of 13 people located globally. Our team is responsible for providing accurate payroll for all employees in a timely manner.

    We're looking for a senior candidate who has experience with the following:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role handling complex payroll functions.
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll software, preferably with experience in software used widely in Canada (e.g., ADP, Ceridian). Experience in Workday payroll is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian payroll regulations, including detailed knowledge of Quebec payroll requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver results independently while working in a fast-paced environment
  • General accounting knowledge coupled with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Certification from the NPI is a strong asset.
