We are currently looking for an organized and detail-oriented person to fill our Medical Office Assistant position. The Medical Office Assistant is critical part of our team, providing support to our patients and physicians. The Medical Office Assistant reports directly to the Administration Supervisor of Alberta Retina Consultants.What you'll do:
- Work as part of a team to enhance the patient experience
- Respond to patient concerns and questions about appointments
- Reception and telephone duties (answering phone inquiries via a multi line phone system)
- Checking patients in/out
- Correspond with other offices for incoming and outgoing referrals via phone
- Assist with coordination of referrals: triaging, booking, and confirming appointments
- Use database to prepare medical documents
What you have:
- MOA certificate preferred
- Medical office experience an asset
- Knowledgeable computer skills
- Able to maintain accuracy while multitasking or working under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Healthquest experience an asset but not required

Who we are:
Alberta Retina Consultants was established in 1998 to meet the retina needs of Albertans. We have eight retina specialists work together, within Alberta Retina Consultants, to provide seamless care to our patients. Each holds educational appointments at the University of Alberta, while also involved in ongoing retina research.

Pay:
From $18.51 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
Education:
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
Experience:
- optometry or ophthalmology: 1 year (preferred)
