    We're looking for a Structural Technician REVIT Modeller to join our growing Canadian Operations. To be successful, you must have a minimum 8 years of structural design (REVIT) experience in rail, stations, and transportation facilities Projects. The Structural REVIT Modeller will cooperate and work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, regional team leads across Ontario, Canada, North America and GHD's global network.

    Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Preparation of structural drawings and details from conception to final design, according to established standards and procedures for a wide variety of steel and concrete structures including shallow and deep foundations, transit stations, treatment plants, pump and transfer stations, processing facilities, push and retaining walls.
  • Working in various procurement strategies such as Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build environments to advance structural design packages.
  • Mentoring and supervising junior and developing Techs.
  • Following BIM Execution Plan and BIM project requirements throughout project lifecycle.
  • Providing support and training to junior and developing Techs on project BIM standards and procedures.
  • Adhering to GHD BIM standards and procedures and implements compliance on project level.
  • Providing input into BIM scope, schedule, budget when required.
  • Quantity take-offs.
  • Producing consistent, high quality structural deliverables.
  • Communication with structural leads, designers, and project team members on regular basis to ensure effective and timely flow of project information to meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Participating, when required, in advancement of GHD Standard Structural Details and BIM Standards including promoting changes, mentor on updates to tools and methods, assisting with training development and lessons learned exercises.
  • What you will bring to the team:

  • Technician/Technologist with Civil Engineering Technology diploma with background in Civil or Structural Engineering is considered an asset.
  • 8 years of design/drafting standards, practice, and techniques experience. (Mandatory)
  • Superior attention to detail, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • High proficiency with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD. Knowledge of Navisworks, Dynamo, AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D is considered an asset.
  • Good understanding of level of effort required to complete the work.
  • Positive attitude, good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competency/expertise in REVIT and BIM Collaboration tools . (ProjectWise, BIM 360) (Mandatory).
  • Strong communication skills for team-based working environment and for teaching project teams about standard methodologies in BIM/CAD.
  • Ability to interact with external entities to interpret and understand BIM/CAD requirements and BIM scope.
  • Ability to work in multiple parallel projects and within a team environment.
