(1) Early Childhood Educator Teacher.

The role:


Reporting to the Center Supervisor, the ideal Early Childhood Educator Teacher will identify learning objectives of the children, create, and manage a variety of learning environments and activities that will provide opportunities for children to develop to their fullest potential.


Learning Jungle teachers work as a team with fellow staff to promote the interests of the children in particular and the school in general.


Type:
Contract Position (8 months)

  • Implement childcare programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Provide opportunity for creative expression through the mediums of art, dramatic play, and music
  • Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities, field trips and special activities
  • Establish and maintain a warm supportive relationship with the families of the children.
  • Knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act and knowledge of licensing regulations
  • Keep accurate and current, the records as required by the Centre and the Ministry.
  • Attend meetings and professional development seminars as required
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with coworkers and community service providers working with children
  • Be responsible for maintaining a healthy, safe, clean, stimulating environment for children in the assigned classroom and for the Centre.
  • Valid Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Valid Standard First Aid Certificate (including Infant and child CPR-C)
  • Knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act and licensing regulations
  • CCEYA Self-Test Certificate
  • AODA Certificate
  • Food Handlers (preferred)
  • Have a passion for working with children and making a difference in their lives
  • Be a teamplayer who can manage a learning environment and can create fun activities/lessons that develop children.
  • Will be organized and able to prepare activities based off of children's ideas and interests, has worked with children and who can manage conflict.
  • Be someone who is invested in the personal growth and development of children.
  • Be empathetic and motivational individual that can keep up with the children.
