About Us:


The Western Communications team provides strategic advice to university senior leadership, faculty, staff and teams of internal and external communications staff across Western in order to build the university's brand on a local, national and global scale.


Responsibilities:


The Marketing Analyst will be a key contributor in our strategic analysis of online behavior by collecting, interpreting and analyzing data, and generating actionable insights to support reputation building and international marketing efforts.

Through the identification of new data sources, analysis of data, and the development of comprehensive reports, this role will form an integral part of our performance management, investment optimization, and planning processes.

The Analyst will work with key internal and external stakeholders to optimize our data and reporting structure, while proactively identifying new and innovative ways to enhance our data management, analysis and insight capabilities.

The role will analyze a large variety of internal and external data, conduct marketing and student recruitment campaign analysis, and formulate reports, summarizing data to clearly communicate the effectiveness of initiatives.

The Analyst will implement, measure, and report on multiple sources of information to build a unified view of our client journey across multiple touch-points of engagement, which will enable Western to optimize student recruitment, conversion and retention, promote our successes, events and offerings, and increase brand awareness.


Qualifications:


Education:


  • Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Statistics or other related program
  • Relevant certification preferred (e.g. Google Analytics, Search Engine Marketing/Search Engine Optimization)

Experience:


  • 3 years' experience in data management, reporting and analytics
  • 3 years' experience with Google Analytics, Google Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft Azure, Power BI and Tableau or other contemporary business intelligence software such as Amplitude, Mixpanel or Looker
  • Experience in a postsecondary environment is preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of key statistical concepts and methods essential to finding structure in data
  • Knowledge of systems analysis, data storage and information retrieval techniques
  • Knowledge of diverse methodologies to get insight from the data
  • Ability to produce concise and accessible analysis of complex data through the effective use of charts and tables
  • Attention to detail with an ability to retrieve, analyze and synthesize sizable amounts of data while ensuring that information is accurate and comprehensive
  • Ability to establish effective routines for excellent communication with all members of the team to maximize productivity
  • Innovative and flexible critical thinking skills to adjust to and implement new processes or technology to the University's advantage
  • Ability to remain highly motivated, resilient, innovative, and collaborative when faced with challenges
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Project management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and perform well under pressure
  • Proven ability to build both formal and informal professional relationships within, across, and external to organizational boundaries
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve departmental goals
