    Description
    Clinical Occupational Therapist II, Permanent Full-Time
    Rehabilitative Services (community position), Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor

    The clinical occupational therapist II reports to the Regional Manager of Rehabilitative Services (with clinical supervision and professional practice oversight provided by the Occupational Therapy Clinical Lead).

    The position involves planning, coordinating, and evaluating the community based occupational therapy program.

    The successful candidate will provide occupational therapy services as part of a multidisciplinary team with the goal of supporting individuals to live safely and effectively in the community.

    The successful candidate will perform short-term interventions such as equipment prescription, development of home programs, environmental modification, and client/caregiver education.

    These interventions enable clients to achieve the highest and safest level of occupational performance possible within their home environment to avoid hospitalization.

    This position requires a good understanding of primary health care, as well as, the ability to develop and maintain strong linkages with internal and external partners.

    The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.

    Graduate degree specializing in Occupational Therapy from an approved university.

    • Certification with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy (CAOT).
    • Licensure with the Newfoundland and Labrador Occupational Therapy Board (NLOTB).
    • 2 years work experience in the field of occupational therapy.
    • Experience and knowledge in areas of community, policy, and program development, as well as, program evaluation.
    • Willing to work a flexible work schedule.
    • Daily use of a private vehicle for employment.
    • A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
    • Consistent demonstration of the core values of NL

    Health Services:
    A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
    Hours of Work: 75 hours bi-weekly (shift work may be required)
