Job Summary:


The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing guidance and support on all HR matters to the management team and associates at the Musashi North American Tech Center in Waterloo, ON.

Areas include payroll, benefits, recruitment, talent and development, engagement and associate relations, and legislative compliance, health and safety. Develop and administer programs, policies and procedures to help align the workforce with the goals of the organization. This position will also lend support, as required, to other Musashi North America associates based outside of Canada.

Reports to:
President, Musashi North America (MNA) and Human Resources Manager, Musashi Auto Parts Canada (MAP-C)

Location: 65 Northland Rd. Waterloo, ON


Qualifications:

University degree in human resources, business or related.
3+ years of human resources generalist experience in a technology or manufacturing environment.
CHRP designation preferred.
Knowledgeable in employment, safety and immigration laws in both Ontario and the USA (primarily Michigan).
Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion, tact and diplomacy in handling sensitive information.
Good computer skills in MS Office products and in HRMS, SAP, Payroll / Time & Attendance Systems.

Responsibilities:

Oversee recruiting, evaluation, selection, and orientation of new associates.
Administer HR policies, programs and initiatives.
Develop HR programs and initiatives in support of workforce development and strategic goals
Design, coordinate, and implement associate-management relations strategies.
Maintain HRIS, associate records, and filing.
Provide related human resource counsel.
Administer associate relations engagement events and activities.
Participate in compliance activities in corporate governance and J-SOX.
Liaise with government agencies, health-provider companies, and other related outside suppliers.
Member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee and other committees as necessary (i.e. 5S)
Oversee general office duties, including but not limited to, supply ordering, coordination of shared services and facilities activities.
Perform related duties as required.
Attend annual health and safety training including (but not limited to) WHMIS and Incident Reporting
