UHN Telemonitor Service is a dynamic and rapidly expanding program in the healthcare technology sector and is an initiative created to respond to unit staffing requirements at UHN, based on patient acuity and replacement needs.

Hours:37.5 hours per week; 12 Hour Shifts - Days, Evenings, Nights, and Weekends

Permanent Full-time, contingent on continued funding

***Working collaboratively with the Operations Manager, the Telemonitor Program Supervisor will coordinate and oversee all functions of the Telemonitor Program hub. The Supervisor will lead a team of unregulated healthcare providers by managing patient flow of the program, supporting efficient workflows and identifying opportunities for improvement with a solution focused lens.


This role requires an individual who is organized and professional, pays close attention to detail and can remain calm when multiple priorities are presented.

As the primary contact for the Telemonitor Program hub, they will liaise with both UHN units and external client hospital sites.


The Telemonitor Supervisor will report to the Operations Manager and provides 24 hour a day, 7 day a week coverage.

This role requires 12 hour shifts consisting of a combination of days, nights and weekends.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and oversee day to day operations and patient flow in Telemonitor Program
  • Ensure that operations and daily workflow follow Standard Of Practice and Hospital Policy
  • Act as escalation point for Patient Observation Technicians after hours
  • Active involvement in Patient Observation Technician development by training staff on new and existing equipment and software
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate when needed
  • Address issues or conflicts that arise
  • Manage daily staffing of Telemonitor Program hub and ensure safe patient assignments
  • Provide direct patient monitoring, as needed
  • Administrative duties as assigned by Operations Manager including, but not limited to, data entry, scheduling, request approvals, payroll
  • Solution based approach to managing
  • Supervising unregulated healthcare provider

Qualifications:


  • Member of College of Nurses of Ontario, Registered Practical Nurse or healthcare provider background preferred
  • Experience in a supervisory/charge nurse/clinical lead role is a benefit but not required
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Demonstrated ability towards team building and collaboration
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Client service oriented
  • Proficient use of Microsoft 36
  • Highly adaptive to changing environments
  • Good aptitude for learning
  • Comfortable learning new technology
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner
  • Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multitask
  • Excellent decision making and problemsolving skills
