Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries (MPGC) is an organization which controls the operation of ten cemeteries, and nine funeral centres in the Greater Toronto Area.
The funeral centres are operated by Canadian Memorial Services (CMS).
MPGC's purpose is to bring some comfort to an otherwise difficult experience by offering each and every person care, compassion and choice.
MPGC is a not-for-profit, non-share Capital Corporation which was formed by Special Act and is governed by the Corporations Act (Ontario).
We are looking for a Service Coordinator to join our team based at Mount Pleasant Cemetery located in North York.
- Assist individuals/families in the selection of interment rights, memorials, inscriptions, cremation and all ancillary services
- Process documents relating to memorialization and interments for customers such as interment Rights Certificates, arrangement forms, transfer & exchange documents, grave/cremation/removal orders, memorial/inscription/ ceramic photo orders, endowments, receipts, invoices, timepayment contracts, accounts receivable, bank deposits, service request, etc.
- Contribute to property maintenance by watching for problem areas when on the grounds and informing the Property Management Team
- Organize and attend graveside/ cremation, interments or entombments services as required
- Follow up with customers and employees on arrangements and memorializations
- Perform any related sundry activities as assigned

- Week

- Saturday

- Tuesday
- Friday
- 8:30am to 5:00pm
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or at least one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- A valid Ontario "G" Driver's Licence and a clean Driver's Abstract
- Previous experience in a cemetery sales would be considered an asset
- The successful applicant must obtain a Sales Representative Licence upon hire
- A strong commitment to exceeding customer service expectations
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and organization skills
- Keen eye for detail and ability to multitask
- Intermediate proficiency of Windows and MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Understanding and knowledge of clerical/administrative responsibilities would be considered an asset
