Your Role on our Team:

The Manager, Architecture is responsible for continuous improvement strategies, optimizing standards, and overseeing all aspects of the Architectural function, while ensuring the highest quality of customer service for internal and external stakeholders.

The Manager, Architecture, leads by example and actively promotes the Minto values of accomplishment, courage, partnership, and innovation.


In this role, you will:


  • Coordinates working drawings and documentation between consultants, manufacturers, trade partners, and internal stakeholders along with tracking deliverables
  • Performs document reviews for adequate coordination between business plans, design drawings, marketing/sales collateral, and contract documentation
  • Performs construction site visits and coordinates document reviews with internal stakeholders to obtain feedback and ensure details and/or specifications are optimized, to reduce construction complexity and cost inefficiencies
  • Reviews and coordinates shop drawings from truss, engineered floor, and MEP consultants;
  • Assists with executing external consultant RFP
  • Coordinates drawing specifications and standard library revisions, including design, construction details, and performance standards
  • Main liaison in resolving issues at the community level for the site team, trade partners, Customer Experience team, and City staff
  • Establishes department deadlines, distributes tasks, and updates all department activity lists;
  • Supports innovation initiatives through research, feasibility analysis, and development of lessons learned
  • Supports product and process enhancement initiatives
  • Coordinates the grading lot fit matrix and any related specialty drawings and details;
  • Performs other duties within the job's scope, spirit, and purpose, as requested by management.
  • Participates in special projects as required
  • Adheres to timesheet tracking and submission requirements
  • Performs electronic and hard copy filing of project documentation as required
  • Coordinates and reports metrics
  • Participates in the development of costeffective alternatives to improve financial performance in all areas
  • Establishes, builds, and maintains relationships with peers and trades

We would like you to have:

  • A minimum of three (3+) years of previous professional experience in residential wood frame, production-built projects
  • Post-Secondary Education including College Diploma (Architectural Technologists or related discipline) or University Degree (Architecture or related discipline)
  • Customerfocused
  • Problemsolving, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Effective communication and people skills
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code (OBC)
  • Knowledge of sustainable design strategies is an asset (i.e., highperformance building envelopes, Net Zero energy, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook. Project is an asset), Bluebeam, and AutoCAD
