    General Manager of Public Safety

    Permanent Full-Time

    We are seeking a community-minded and strategic leader to play an integral role fostering connections that enhance public safety in the District of Squamish. As a key member of our Core Leadership Team, the General Manager of Public Safety brings their expertise and leadership to oversee a diverse portfolio that includes Squamish Fire Rescue, RCMP Operational Support Services, Emergency Management, and Community Bylaw Services. The General Manager of Public Safety reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer and works closely with the other members of the Core Leadership Team to achieve the overall vision of the organization and the community. What we're looking for:
    1. An advocate for community engagement , dedicated to building connections with a diverse group of individuals and groups including staff, elected officials, First Nations, community groups and the public.
    2. An inclusive leader who values diverse perspectives and fosters a culture of psychological and physical safety.
    3. A long-term visionary who is committed to sustainable practices and initiatives that will benefit our community for years to come.
    4. A strategic thinker who anticipates challenges and devises proactive and compassionate solutions.
    5. A natural collaborator who facilitates cross-departmental synergies, enhancing our organizational effectiveness to achieve community-wide public safety goals.

If you have a degree in a related field (post graduate studies in management and leadership would be an asset), as well as a minimum of seven years of progressive experience working at the senior management level, we would love to hear from you
