Job Summary:
The Recruitment and Communications Assistant will report to the Recruitment Supervisor within the Schulich School of Music Student Services unit to support the development and implementation of a marketing plan, communications strategy, and recruitment activities to attract prospective students (Undergraduate & Graduate).
Support Recruitment Plan:
- Support for the promotion and organization events; e.g. liaising with departments, other universities, and other units necessary
- Assists in the implementation of recruitment events for prospective undergraduate and graduate students including: Visits to Cégeps and school fairs; McGill Open House; webinars and information sessions, etc.
- Compile information on leads and prospective students using student database
- Coordinate meetings and takes minutes
- Conducts research regarding prospective student marketing and trends.
Communications Support:
- Participates in the creation of a marketing approach in collaboration with the Manager of Student Services, Recruitment Supervisor and other units within the Schulich School of Music.
- Work on the digital strategy for recruitment
- Assist with providing content for the website
- Produces promotional material such as flyers, posters, videos and newsletters for use in reports, workshops and info sessions.
Providing support to recruitment events including but not limited to: Student Information Sessions, webinars, school fairs, CEGEP visits, etc.- Coordinate student visits and tours- Assist with in person auditions- Order catering- Room reservations Coordinate student ambassadors, volunteers etc.
Other relevant tasks, as required.
This position is covered by the AMUSE collective agreement.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
- Good understanding of Microsoft Suite (required)
- Ability to work with Office 365 (e.g., Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Forms)
- Comfortable with digital and social platforms such as Zoom, Instagram, Facebook, Canva, etc.
- Strong organization and ability to prioritize
- Experience with communication, strong writing skills
- Experience organizing events (inperson and virtual)
- Selfdriven, organized and autonomous
- Collaborative
- English, excellent spoken and written skills required. French, good spoken and written skills.
- Minimum Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma 2 Years Related Experience
