As a national provider in the Courier sector, Loomis works in synergy with other TFI companies to provide excellent product delivery and client service.

We are currently looking for an
Operations Manager to join our Lower Mainland, BC team.

The Operations Manager directs all phases of the Company's business within the area, to ensure that the planned performance objectives, as detailed by the strategic plan, cost controls and revenue targets are met.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Establish superior customer service performance indicators and meet/exceed standards for ontime controllable deliveries, % of effective deliveries, process compliance, dispatch & claims.
- % tracing calls resolved.

  • Responsibility for the profit and loss of the service centre.
  • Manage all local Human Resources issues.
  • Monitor & improve EBIT through profitable revenue growth, cubing, management of P.U.D. costs, handling cost, data entry.
  • Assist in the development of the long & short range service centre objectives and plans for attainment.
  • Prepare service centre profit plan, and submit for approval and execution.
  • Identify & track route service (SQI) standards and adjust operation as required, i.e., driver cost/shpmt., stops/hour, driver load & departure times.
  • Organize, assign responsibility and develop, through training & counseling, competent branch staff.
  • Provide leadership, through appropriate decisionmaking, communication and motivation, to get service centre management and staff to effectively perform their duties and provide qualified people for advancement.
  • Ensure staff compliance with established Company standards, policies and procedures,
i.e., workplace conduct, Occupational H&S, Transport of Dangerous Goods, WCB.

  • Keep informed on general business conditions and activities of current and potential competitors.
  • Process branch paperwork and prepare required reports & statistics.
  • Manage special projects as agreed with Area Director.
  • 70% of the time in the field. Observe, interact and provide coaching to the different groups of people and parts of the process in different locations.
  • Where applicable and as required, travel to and management of outlying depots.
  • Achievement of area branch track & trace targets.
  • Continuous improvement initiatives implemented.
  • Proactive participation with sales resource team.
  • Responsible for internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Development of staff for greater responsibilities & promotion.
  • Achievement of Branch Financial Targets.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in leadership positions.
  • Demonstrated general accounting, finance & administration experience.
  • Good communication skills written & verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple tasks/priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop people. Implemented measurements & strategies to attain goals within time constraints.
  • Min. 35 years management experience in a service related organization.
  • Proven work experience in a union environment and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated analysis & problem solving skills.
  • Word processing & spreadsheet experience.
  • Post secondary courses in appropriate disciplines.
  • Flexible hours
