Job Purpose:

The Production Supervisor ensures that production is carried out as effective and efficient as possible, in accordance with AkzoNobel's code of conduct, quality practices, Health & Safety Environment (HSE) and other established procedures and standards.

Total Compensation:

Annual base Salary of $60,000.00 to $78,000.00.
Afternoon and Night Shift Premiums.
Eligible for Overtime Pay.
5% Annual Bonus based on personal and corporate performance.
3 weeks' vacation + 5 personal/Sick days + company determined floater days.

Key Activities:

Ensures production is carried out according to production planning.
Ensures all site safety rules are strictly followed to that no injuries occur and looks for root cause for all incidents and near misses.
Ensures all process quality checks are being performed in accordance with established procedures.
Accounts for proper allocation of man hours.
Communicates targets and continuously measures and communicates status against these targets.
Monitors the technical state of installations and take appropriate actions to resolve issues together with Maintenance and Engineering department.
Resolves short term quality issues and initiates structural problem solving in collaboration with the Quality department.
Works with Continuous Improvement (CI) and Shift Supervisors to implement (lean) tools to improve production efficiency, reduce costs and reduce waste.
Coaches Team Leaders to lead daily effective team meetings and ensure daily situational problem solving.

Job Qualifications:

Experience

Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience within the coatings, chemical industry/paints is an asset.
Experience with direct reports, recruiting and conducting performance appraisals.

Computer & Math Skills

Computer Literate and has an ability to use web based online platforms.
Basic knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience with SAP is an Asset.
Math comprehension for calculating, scheduling, and delegating of batch quantities.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work rotating shifts.
Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
Ability to lift 25Kg and handle containers such as 5gallon pails bags of pigment or maneuvering drums up to 900 lbs.
Ability to work in hot and cold environments and inclement weather.
