ABOUT DIGITAL HEALTH AND RDO


The
Digital Health Team is responsible for the full-scope of strategic digital health projects that our healthcare customers require, with a focus on Hospital Information Systems, Electronic Medical Records, and major business system transformations.

The Digital Health team works closely with the other teams in the RDO department, and with SSW's Non-Clinical Sourcing team to ensure seamless coordination for IT-related procurements and projects.


The Digital Health team resides within the
Redevelopment, Data, and Operational Readiness (RDO) department, which consists of five core teams: 1) Digital Health, 2) Redevelopment, 3) Data Management, 4) Business Intelligence, and 5) Operational Readiness.

RDO teams work closely together to provide support to external customers with high-value, complex projects, as well as with day-to-day support with supply chain data.


THE ROLE AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


The Sourcing Associate, Digital Health reports to the Manager, Digital Health and is responsible for leading sourcing processes and contracting initiatives to help clients with strategic digital health projects.

The Sourcing Associate, Digital Health manages basic-to-medium complexity RFx processes, while also supporting Digital Health Specialists with high complexity procurements.

The Sourcing Associate, Digital Health has strong analytical and interpersonal skills to properly assess healthcare clients' needs and build partnerships.

The primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Procurement and Project Coordination

  • Manage procurement processes to effectively purchase digital health solutions at the best overall cost, consistent with satisfactory performance, quality and service.
  • Develop and issue RFx documentation of basic to midlevel procurements based on customer requirements.
  • Manage contract negotiations, amendments, and extensions in a timely manner.
  • Gather and analyze supplier data and information to determine best value opportunities.
  • Ensure that business relations with suppliers are conducted according to the ethical guidelines and BPSPD directives.
  • Review requirements with customer groups through meetings and ongoing communication with suppliers to achieve the best value (cost, quality, outcomes) for products and services.
  • Provide timely communication of project status and escalate issues as appropriate (internally and externally)
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Coordinate and facilitate evaluations/trials when required.
  • Lead and coordinate project activities as required.

Compliance

  • Manage compliance with the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directives (BPSPD).
  • Ensure the procurement process is followed according to existing SSW and end user policies and procedures.

Reporting

  • Report, track, and maintain internal documents and project planning materials
  • Track project timelines and actualize cost impact
  • Maintain accurate records (in line with BPSPD)

Education

  • College diploma or University degree in science, business, supply chain, or related field.
  • Mediation/ negotiation training is an asset.
  • CSCMP, SCMA or PMP is an asset.
  • MBA is an asset.

Work Experience

  • One (1) year of sourcing and/or related experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.

Knowledge and Understanding

  • BPSPD
  • Healthcare systems and general IT knowledge is an asset.

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with online RFx posting sites (e.g., Bonfire) is an asset.
