    Working as a member of the inter-professional team, the Physiotherapist will provide comprehensive services to patients in a variety of in-patient areas. The Physiotherapist will provide assessments to clients and will provide recommendations designed to maximize safety and function to support individuals recovery. The successful candidate will participate in program development and evaluation as well as actively participating in regular team meetings, liaising with community based providers, advocating on behalf of clients and their families and participation in inter-professional patient and family conferences as needed. The successful candidate may be scheduled at any SHN hospital based on departmental needs.

    Requirements:


    •Registration and licensed to practice (in good standing) with the College of Physiotherapy of Ontario

    •Valid BLS Certification

    •Previous experience working with clients with multiple co-morbidities, experience with clients with neurological, orthopaedic and cognitive impairments an asset

    •Proven ability to plan and recommend continued self-care programs

    •Effective verbal and written communication skills

    •Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills

    •Ability to work well within an inter-professional team

    •Ability to exercise initiative and observe strict confidentiality

    •Liability insurance confirmed

    •Utilize protective equipment provided and identify and reports hazards

    •Engages in ethical conduct and strives to understand and appreciate the diversity of our patient/staff population and community

    •Member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association

    •M.Sc (preferred) in Physiotherapy or equivalent

    •Familiarity with wheelchair and mobility aid prescription an asset

    •Ability to speak another language
