Reporting directly to the AVP, Technology Operational Risk, the
Director of Information Technology Risk will lead the execution of fully independent Information Technology risk program, which will include but are not limited to oversight of the following components:

Use of technology frameworks
Risk Governance
Risk assessments
Input to the measurement of operational risk profile
Monitoring and reporting mechanisms

What will you do?

Lead the execution and maintenance of second line's I
nformation Technology Risk Oversight program:
Perform annual challenge of IT Risk Policy, EOG and supporting Directives.
Challenge middle and senior management's Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA)
Collaborate with the first line of defense (1LOD) to establish and renew KRIs
Challenge and report on notable IT Risk (Availability, Currency, Stability) related incidents and Operational Risk Events (OREs)
Oversee key compliance indicators to policies
Recommend new first line processes for oversight
Stay current with industry best practices and trends
Establish influential relationships with key stakeholders. Influence innovative solutions in response to constraints and conduct challenges in a professional manner
Aggregating and authoring information technology risk information for quarterly reporting and providing challenge as appropriate for the Operational Risk & Compliance Committee (ORCC) and Risk & Conduct Review Committee (RCRC)

What do you need to succeed?

Information technology professional certifications, such as ITIL
Indepth understanding of global information technology standards and requirements (e.g., regulatory) and industry best practices,
Indepth understanding of first line of defence information technology processes, controls, and systems at Sun Life is an asset.
Experience with:
RCSAs
Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, and Operational Risk Events
Key Risk Indicators
10 years experience in Information Technology Service Management related roles.
Clearly defines complex issues and operates well in ambiguous situations, helping others to navigate complexity and risk
Effective presentation, communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills
