Duties:

Instruct all levels of Foundation and Apprenticeship technical training. This will include theory presentation and shop instruction.


Required Qualifications:

Minimum three years of demonstrated teaching or industry training experience or appropriate combination of above, including some supervisory experience.

  • Must have instructed Foundation program and current in 2021 CEC Electrician.
  • Interprovincial Certification with having served a fouryear apprenticeship and has a minimum of five years proven journeyman status working on a broad range of building projects.
  • Must have recent experience working with and interpreting the Electrical Code.
  • Proven participation in traderelated professional development relating to new technologies, new industry/instructional developments and trends, and supervisory experience.
  • Completion of Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or equivalent (if in progress, maximum two years to completion).
  • Proven classroom management ability.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • A high level of energy and enthusiasm is essential.
  • Proven positive interpersonal skills in dealing with students.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of a wide variety of adult students returning to education.
  • Ability to work as part of a team of instructors, administrators, and staff.
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and have a confirmed satisfactory driving record
