The role we are offering you:

As the Group Lead Planning Dept, this position requires the leadership of a group of planners for both the Hawk and Harvard aircraft fleets and is responsible for detailing and managing the aircraft maintenance and inspection schedules and maintenance projects of the fleets of aircraft via Master Scheduled Maintenance Manuals and special modification and inspection projects.

In addition, this position is responsible for reviewing and substantiating all maintenance activities to ensure optimum resource use, including parts, people, and budget.

This job requires cross-departmental communication, planning, an in-dept understanding of Airworthiness policies and procedures and is relied upon to: forecast and track maintenance activities; resolve aircraft maintenance planning issues; guide aircraft usage via stagger and induction control; arrange the acquisition of aircraft parts.

The incumbent will also act as Technical Specialist when required, transcribing/authorizing OEM maintenance in Maintenix.


Are you ready to:

The group lead will act as the intermediary between the planning, engineering, Customer Service Center, and maintenance teams. Ensuring Engineering Actions and Engineering Queries are implemented into the maintenance plans, and accurate reports are generated and shared.

The incumbent is responsible for forecasting and tracking activities; procurement activities of rotable and consumable parts; long-term component overhaul requirements for both fleets of aircraft; and considering turnaround times for component overhauls at vendor facilities, evaluate usage rates to forecast part's expiry or overhaul timelines.

Work with the technical specialists to organize, control and direct staff for the provision of aircraft maintenance planning activities.
Provide annual and in some cases, multi-year overhaul prerequisites to the supplier.

Modernize planning activities and ensure that the Aircraft Maintenance Organization's near, mid and long-term goals are realized.
Create required reports from Maintenix and SAP to support maintenance planning and flying operations. These reports will also assist in facilitating external billing. Work with interested parties in the development of last-time buy strategies and the burndown of parts.

Review and substantiate all planning activities to ensure optimum resource use, including parts, people, and budget and ensure proper documentation of all aircraft maintenance planning activities.

Align Maintenix maintenance tasks to aircraft inspections; and extend maintenance/ inspection timelines to correspond with aircraft availability, manpower, and part requirements.

Create and manipulate Maintenix scripts to extract and employ required data for part and inspection requirements.

8 to 12 years of relevant experience
Airworthiness Rules and Standards knowledge
Certification as Business Analyst (an asset)
Diploma or degree in Computer Information Systems
Experience leveraging tools such as Maintenix, SAP, JIRA, Sharepoint, MS Visio etc.
Experience writing reports, interpreting data, and presenting data
Experience in project coordinating, facilitating, and completing of project deliverables
