Summary:

Reporting to the Foreman, the Operator is responsible for safely transporting and operating heavy equipment on construction sites.

Job types include sewer & water, septic tanks, field and well hookups, utility service lines, gravity and low pressure sewer work, site cleanup, small/special projects and more.

The work for this position is primarily local to Southeastern Manitoba, Winnipeg and surrounding areas.


Job Duties Responsibilities:


  • Transport equipment to and from shop and construction sites daily
  • Operate equipment safely as per standard operating procedures, equipment may include, but not limited to, 3.5 ton to 20 ton excavators, backhoes, skid steers
  • Perform inspections, complete equipment maintenance tasks, and check equipment daily
  • Keep equipment and vehicles clean and in safe/working order
  • Load and unload equipment in a safe manner
  • Report any accidents, damage, or defects immediately and work in a safe manner
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Comply with all policies, procedures, and safety regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:


  • 2+ years' experience in Excavator operating is required
  • Must have a valid Class 1 or 3 driver's license
  • Physically capable of performing the duties of the position; standing, sitting, lifting, etc. for long periods of time
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Safetyfirst attitude
  • Provide: must have a hard hat, high visibility vest, CSA approved steeltoed safety boots/shoes
