LE SELECT is currently hiring
PASTRY COOKS to join our Culinary team


Originally opened in 1977,
LE SELECT is a historical & iconic French restaurant and boasts a wine spectator award of excellence wine cellar.


Reporting to the Chef De Cuisine, the
PASTRY COOK will have previous pastry kitchen experience including decorating, baking, preparing pastry and desserts.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:


  • Responsible for creating and preparing confectionery and other pastrybased items in accordance with existing menu
  • Inspect the quality of ingredients and accurately measure them for specific recipes
  • Execute pastry orders as per spec and garnishing requirements
  • Ensure compliance with food handling safety regulation, health and safety workplace policies and procedures

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum 2 years of pastry cook, baker, or similar
  • Completion of related pastry culinary program, is an asset
  • Food Safe certification, is an asset
  • Creative ability in designing and decorating
  • Workable knowledge of kitchen equipment
  • Solid understanding of standard measurements and portions
  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
  • Excellent team player; camaraderie with all team members, BOH and FOH
  • Must exhibit a high degree of professionalism; (i.e. punctuality, dedication, wellgroomed, mannerly)
  • Energetic with a passion for food and a positive outlook
  • Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, mornings and nights
