Halton Hills Hydro Inc. is currently seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual to fill the position of
Accounts Payable Clerk.

This position reports to the Controller and the applicant will have demonstrated the following qualifications, which are essential to this position:


SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years' experience in an accounts payable role or equivalent relevant experience;
  • Superior attention to detail and organization skills;
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others and resolve issues;
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Microsoft Great Plains is considered a strong asset;
  • Working knowledge of job costing, IFRS and the Income Tax Act;
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with mínimal supervision;
  • Experience working within an electric utility environment would be considered an asset;
  • A postsecondary diploma in accounting or business is preferred.

DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for accurate and timely entry of invoices, including verification and allocation of ledger account;
  • Reviewing invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment;
  • Schedule EFT payments and prepare cheque runs in a timely manner;
  • Maintain a good relationship with both external vendors and internal teams;
  • Help with audit requests and year end task as required, support biannual inventory counts;
  • Maintain standard company filing system in soft and hard copies, maintain 7 years of A/P records;
  • Perform account analysis and reconciliation;
  • Investigate billing and receiving errors, communicate with vendors and customers to correct errors;
  • Record truck time on work orders and support job costing;
  • Order and manage the department's office supplies;
  • Assist the Controller as required.

COMPENSATION
Salary range of $53,089.00 to $66,502.00 per annum.
