Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) is a non-profit organization that delivers an objectives-based program for massively scalable, seed-stage, science
- and technology-based companies. Its mission is to accelerate the commercialization of science for the betterment of humankind. CDL is a global program with sites at Oxford, Paris, Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, Halifax, Atlanta, Seattle, Wisconsin, Estonia, and Berlin. The program's objective-setting process enhances the performance of technical founders who learn from the insights of experienced entrepreneurs, increasing their probability of success. Each stream within each CDL site hosts a series of 4 annual objective-setting sessions that are the primary mechanisms by which the program is delivered. CDL sessions are complex, full-day events that may be hosted virtually or in person and that bring together participating startups, mentors, partners, and business students. At the end of each annual program cycle, CDL hosts a two-day event called Super Session that brings together graduating startups as well as mentors, partners, and students from across the network.
As the Events Coordinator, you will be a key member of the CDL-Global Engagement team and work closely with the engagement team to execute all events.
This includes (but is not limited to) all corporate partner programming, CDL Session execution for partners, alumni and mentor events.
In addition to your primary responsibilities, you may be assigned special projects or allocated to support CDL site operations.Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
- Conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities
- Overseeing the implementation of event plans and activities
- Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials
- Handling expenses for events
- Serving as a resource to others by providing (nonsupervisory) jobrelated guidance
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience
- Minimum three (3) years recent and related experience in event coordination with the requirement for significant customer interaction and service
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating small to largescale events
- Experience in handling multiple and concurrent deadlines and working in a fastpaced environment
- Demonstrated superior logístical planning, time management, problemsolving and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills with the ability to interact with people in a tactful, polite, professional and diplomatic way
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills with the ability to adapt to change
- Demonstrated flexibility in adapting to a wide variety of tasks and functions
- Proven ability to monitor and uphold a high quality of work
- Ability to remaincalm under pressure
- Detail oriented
