The Accounting Supervisor is a leader specialized in the Accounting functions for their divisions within HUB.

Based in Montreal, QC or Toronto, ON (Hybrid role), the Accounting Supervisor will be part of the Eastern Canadian team and will report to the CFO/Director of Finance.

Leading a team of associates and analysts, the successful applicant will supervise the Accounting operations of their team and will be responsible for the financial reporting and deliverables of their respective Hub.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure escalations are resolved timely and accurately. Drives the root cause analysis to reduce future escalations

Collaborates with the other Regional Finance Leadership to support National Employee Benefits department

Lead and co-ordinate the month-end process and financial reporting, from closure of broker management systems to preparation of financial statements in Hyperion.

Provide financial and operational analysis reporting to support business decisions and/or requested by Management.

Investigate and communicate key variances relating to financial and operational metrics.

Perform annual budget and monthly forecasting process.

Liaise between Finance and Operations concerning transaction processing and reporting in the broker management system.

Participate in any carrier's audit.

Lead, support and follow up with direct reports including completion of performance reviews.

Participate in weekly calls and sessions for migration to new broker system and various ad hoc projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years with a proven track record of supervising an accounting team of at least 5 people.

BA/BS in Business with an emphasis on accounting. Related experience may offset this requirement.

A firm understanding of accounting and financial concepts and controls surrounding accounting functions.

Strong experience in Microsoft Excel

Superior verbal and written communication skills

Solid interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

History of balancing multiple priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines

Experience in a shared services accounting environment preferred

Insurance brokerage experience preferred

French as second language preferred

Must understand the need for flexibility in working schedule to meet deadlines and support a team

Fournit un rapport d'analyse opérationnelle et financière pour soutenir les décisions commerciales et/ou demandées par la direction.

Enquête à propos de et communique les variations clé relatives aux données financières et opérationnelles.

Effectue le processus de budget annuel et de prévision mensuelle.

Effectue la liaison entre les aspects financiers et opérationnels relatifs au traitement et au rapport d'opérations dans le système de gestion des courtiers.

Participe à l'audit de tout fournisseur.

Dirige, assiste et suit par des rapport directs incluant la réalisation d'appréciations de la performance.

Participe à des sessions et des appels hebdomadaires pour la migration vers un nouveau système de courtier et divers projets ad hoc.
