We're looking for a photo & video production supervisor to join our team and manage the post production needs of our day-to-day operations.

You'll be implementing our production process and working closely with our on-site supervisors, photographers, videographers, and production staff.

In order to be successful in this position you'll have you will have photography & video production management experience in a fast-paced environment.

You'll know how to schedule competing deadlines and multiple staff, set and manage their expectations, and be constantly improving the post production process to get better results for our clients.

During the slower periods you'll be getting organized, hiring staff for the upcoming season, and working with the rest of the team to ensure a smooth and efficient delivery season.

Key Qualifications


Experience

  • 2+ years' supervising a team in an office/studio environment.
  • 3+ years' professional video editing experience.
  • 3+ years' of photo postproduction experience.
  • 3+ years' of working with files, backup procedures and asset management.
  • Production supervision knowledge with emphasis on processing live event products.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of photography, videography, and post production processes.
  • Live audio recording knowledge using external audio recorders and microphones.
  • Clear understanding of the audiovisual language.

Key Duties
Leadership

  • Communicates GradsBC's purpose, values, and strategic plans, internally and externally.
  • Establishes production processes that promote company culture and vision.
  • Monitors day to day production performance and the work of direct reports.
  • Holds regularly scheduled, rarely missed 1:1s with all direct reports on a weekly basis.
  • Leads the way in ethics, code of conduct, and Health and Safety matters, living out GradsBC's policies at all times.
Production Management

  • Troubleshoots technical issues with galleries, data, software glitches, etc.
  • Manages file storage effectively and consistently, ensuring assets are accessible to editors in a timely manner.
  • Manages retouching turnarounds, deadlines, and special customer requests.
  • Manages service item deliverables, ID cards, exports, composites, etc.
  • Reviews the quality of images/poses/video interviews.
  • Managing video product launch to online galleries.
  • Assists with photo/video editing to meet deadlines.
  • Assists with planning and organizing events with postproduction deliverables in mind.
  • Prepares projects, printing schedules and QR codes for onsite team.
  • Reviews all content provided by the client and ensures the editors have a clear 'roadmap' on what components need to be included in the end product.
  • Ensures performance metrics are met in the photography department.
  • Manages the backing up of the projects and files from events and RAW event files.
Human Resources

  • Leads the recruitment and onboarding process for Production Artists, Video Editors and Retouchers, in conjunction with others where necessary
  • Prepares, modifies, and delivers job descriptions and performance evaluations to direct reports.
  • Conducts annual wage review meetings with production staff and any exit interviews.
  • Sets clear and realistic expectations with direct reports through oneonone meetings, performance evaluations, job descriptions presentations and effective feedback.
  • Engages in conflict resolution and works with managers, staff, and clients to resolve issues.
General

  • Contributes to a culture of team building and continuous improvement.
  • Creates and updates process flows, procedures, checklists, and other documentation.
  • Attends regular meetings, daily huddles, and other meetings as required including strategic meetings as requested.
