The Cross Cultural Learner Centre is a non-profit organization, located in London, Ontario, that provides settlement services for newcomers to Canada.

We are currently looking for a full-time
Landlord Liaison to join our team.

The CCLC is a great place to work and make a difference.

This role builds strong relationships with a large network of landlords in London with the aim of ensuring our newcomer clients find the safe and appropriate housing they need.

The Landlord Liaison connects with landlords in person, at industry meetings, on the phone and virtually to engage and educate landlords on newcomer housing needs and to build awareness of the CCLC as a reliable source of quality tenants.


We need a dynamic, friendly person who understands the London rental housing market and likes actively connecting with individual and corporate landlords and building an extensive network.

You'll need to be able to visit properties throughout the city and meet with landlords during the day or in the evening (or on weekends) if that's when they are available.

Success is measured by how many London landlords know about our clients when you are done


As CCLC works with vulnerable clients in our community, you'll need to be able to pass a Vulnerable Persons Police Check to work for our organization.


Duties & Responsibilities:

Liaison Responsibilities (80%):

  • Assist in the development, projections, and analysis of the budget for the new housing projects located at 127 Friars Way, 763, 765, 769 Dundas Street
  • Oversee the operation of 127 Friar Way under supervision of Managers.
  • Build relationship and maintain network of London, Ontario based individual and corporate landlords
  • Establish and maintain a pathway to exchange information between landlords, the CCLC and newcomer tenants to identify available rental housing available and potential newcomer tenants
  • Build and maintain an inventory of available rental housing.
  • Create resources in educating landlords on the needs of newcomer clients and opportunities newcomers present as tenants.
  • Foster landlord communication and interaction through the creation and maintenance of CCLC/Landlord communication streams and events such as Facebook groups, social media posts, groups, landlord events, etc. in partnership with the CCLC communications team
  • Create and oversee CCLC/Landlord promotional material and communications with focused on branding, and highlighting housing
  • Attend landlord focused/rental housing industry events such as London Property Management Association meetings, etc.
  • Organize educational sessions for Landlords on understanding of newcomer housing needs
  • Maintain records for all housing services and submit accurate tracking documents and create statistics report as needed.
  • Keep uptodate on current laws, regulations, and policies related to housing markets.
  • Based on the NATs information of clients' arrivals, project the housing needs to communicate with landlords to secure the potential units.
  • Regularly update on the general trends of housing markets such as rent and affordable housing in the community.

Other Duties (20%):

  • Participate actively in all mandated training, staff meetings and workshops
  • Ensure appropriate and confidential handling of all client information and files
  • Operate in accordance with the policies, guidelines, and protocols of the program and partner organizations.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the program
  • Provide data such as statistics for required reports
  • Assist with or provide RAP mandatory orientations for clients, as backup when needed
  • Assist with or act as 'Meet and Greet' staff representative, when needed

Requirements are as follows:

Education:

Minimum level required is Community College diploma in Marketing or related field


Experience:

Minimum of two years of experience in marketing with a focus on housing is preferred as well as

experience in the housing sector is required, along with knowledge of the Landlord and Tenant

Act, social housing supports, and housing networks in London


Job Types:

  • Day shift
  • Evening shift
  • Weekends as needed
