  • C.A.R.E. is a 24hour emergency and referral specialty hospital, which operates out of a 26,000 square foot facility in Calgary. The hospital has recently undergone a complete update and expansion to facilitate the evergrowing caseload and expanding specialty services, including the design of a new, stateoftheart ICU with updated equipment for the Critical Care Service.

The specialties include:

Critical Care (2), Oncology (1), Neurology (1), Dermatology (1), Dentistry (1), Internal Medicine (3), Ophthalmology (1), Surgery (2), and Radiology (2), Cardiology (soon to join the practice), Anesthesia (soon to join the practice)._ We espouse the values of a collegial and team based approach to medicine, excellent client service, continuing education, and work life balance.

_ About the role_
In this role, you will be providing leadership and development for a multifaceted team. You understand and prepare for possible challenges that General Managers encounter; people, processes and administrative challenges. You will require strong organizational, administrative and people skills to meet occurring deadlines and related company goals. Key responsibilities and attributes for this role are;

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to foster people relationships, creating exceptional client experiences and fostering VCA Canada's amazing culture
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues, pet parents and the community
  • Adaptable; the ability to adapt to change in a growing multifaceted client service and animal health industry
  • Change management; the ability to drive and manage positive change people, processes and growth
  • Experience with managing multiple Team Leads who supervise approximately 8 staff per department; delegate, motivate and coordinate.
  • Proven ability to work in a busy and sometimes demanding environment where priorities can shift often
  • Ability to troubleshoot, identify and resolve problems in time sensitive situations.
  • Experience with financial reports and how to leverage the data to make sound decisions
  • Administrative skills: scheduling staff, document control, filing, various reporting and coordinating office services (equipment/supplies/forms/procedures)
