In 1975, a group of passionate parents fought to open doors for their children. Gateway Association emerged as the "Gateway to a better life" they envisioned for people with disabilities and their families.

Gateway is a Family Resource Centre (FRC), an Employment Resource Centre (ERC), a Learning Resource Centre (LRC) and a Digital Inclusion Hub that provides education, family support, mentorship and inclusive employment.


Gateway facilitates big change via small changes and works to ignite diversity advocacy in workplaces and the community to advance inclusion culture.


Gateway to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Hub (GEDI-Hub)


At the GEDI-Hub, we help Alberta workplaces across Alberta build capacity, confidence, and community to attract and engage diverse talent while developing their EDI (equity, diversity, and inclusion) capacity and sustainable workforce strategies.


The GEDI-Hub is a _Gateway Association_ initiative fully funded by the Government of Canada and is offered at no cost to workplaces.


Overview

Direct Duties

  • Update and create content for the GEDI-Hub website, ensuring it is informative, engaging, and aligned with our mission, vision, and values.
  • Analyze existing workshop materials to identify key information and insights for GEDI-Hub's resource library.
  • Produce, edit, and enhance videos based on workshop content, creating a dynamic library of resources for our target audience (employers, job seekers, community members, etc.).
  • Maintain and administer the website, implement updates, and optimize the site for user experience, using WordPress.
  • Collaborate with the GEDI-Hub team to ensure all digital content reflects the program's outcomes and objectives.
  • Contribute to the simplification of complex concepts, making our work and resources easily understandable and inclusive for diverse audiences.
  • Provide insight on the latest trends and best practices in digital content creation and multimedia tools, suggesting improvements, and innovations.

The Commitment

  • Temporary position with an end date of December 15, 202
  • Fulltime position, working 37.5 hours/week. We believe in work life balance and are committed to keeping the workload in alignment with the true hours worked.

What You Can Bring to Gateway

  • Bachelor's Degree in Digital Media, Communication, Multimedia, Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field is considered an asset. This indicates a strong foundation in the principles of digital content creation and media production.
  • Lived experience as a member of an equity deserving group is highly valued.
  • Proven experience in digital content creation and multimedia production, particularly video editing.
  • Strong proficiency in WordPress and website administration is required.
  • Strong proficiency in video editing software and graphic design tools (such as Adobe Creative Suite) is required.
  • The ability to analyze and synthesize complex information into captivating digital content.
  • Creative thinking with a keen eye for detail and design.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with working experience on diverse teams.
  • A passion for equity, diversity, inclusion, and social justice.
  • Must reside within Calgary or Edmonton (including their greater surrounding areas).

Gateway Value Proposition (Compensation & Benefits)

  • Salary Position range of temporary contract (end date Dec 15, 2024): $54, $48,000.00 based on start date
  • Benefits 50/50 Employee/Employer Paid Premiums
  • Approximately 10 vacation days, 6 personal days, 10+ paid holidays (all dependent on start date), and a flexible familyfriendly schedule
  • Work conditions include: some travel to Calgary/Edmonton for strategic meetings with colleagues, collaborative and independent work, and some travel across the province for meetings/communitybased events with employers/service providers/community partners
  • Hybrid work: approximately 20% of work is from the office, and the remaining 80% can be from the office, home, and/or community settings employees are expected to reside in and work primarily from the location of hire.
