Looking for a

part-time Food Service Supervisor to join our Riverstone team in London

About the Role:

  • The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for leading while assisting in the food production operations of the Residence to maintain nutritional standards and functions to ensure quality of services for residents that includes daily preparation of meals depending on shifts, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  • Adheres to company policies, procedures, practices and philosophies. Works in accordance with all industry and regulatory compliance agencies, the Ontario Retirement Communities Association, The Retirement Homes Act 2010 and O. Reg 166/1, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Fire Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and other pertinent legislated regulations/ standards.
  • Assists in; maintaining a clean and safe Residence environment for residents and team members, ensuring that safe job routines are developed and followed, recognizing safety hazards and takes appropriate action. Knowledgeable of WHMIS/GHS program and reports and advises the General Manager immediately of all staff incidents that may result in a WSIB claim, or other serious occurrences.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Must have a current certificate in food handling from local public health unit or other recently completed food handling training equivalent to local public health program.
  • Graduate of recognized course in Food Service Supervision. Eligible for membership in Food Service Supervisor's Association/Management.
  • Three years' experience in a related environment, preferred.
  • Certified Cook, Red Seal Chef is preferred.
  • Selfdirected and teamoriented, with strong organizational, leadership, initiative and problemsolving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be committed to multidisciplinary team work and demonstrate an ability to work through collaboration, joint decision making and integrated strategies.
  • Must successfully complete a Police Records Check and disclose any convictions, charges, restraining orders, probation orders and/or warrants during the course of employment that affect in any way the clear Police Records Check.
  • Must provide documentation to support a Tuberculosis Skin Test (TST) or Medical Note from Physician stating free from infectious disease.
  • Skill in planning, coordinating and supervising comprehensive food services programs.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of all regulations under the Acts that govern the standards in health care facilities.
  • Demonstration of leadership and teaching skills. Knowledge of the food services needs of the elderly so as to assess, plan, supervise and evaluate it.
