    Description

    What you will do:

    Humber's Advertising and Marketing Communications (ADMC) program is best in class, it remains relevant in an ever-changing market and

    develops students into skilled graduates and competent employable talent. Therefore, as a faculty member of the ADMC program you will work

    collaboratively with other faculty to develop and deliver the most current and inspiring curriculum to aspiring advertisers and marketers.

    The incumbent will teach, develop curriculum, design/revise specific courses, create an effective and innovative learning environment for our

    students, implement innovative instructional techniques, assess student progress and achievement, work collaboratively with colleagues and

    participate in committees and related associations.

    Additionally, the incumbent will contribute to the overall direction of the program, support student advising, student mentoring, student

    recruitment, assist with the promotion and marketing of programs and develop and maintain strong industry ties.

    Teaching will be assigned at both the North and Lakeshore campuses and may include teaching at the International Graduate School (Toronto).

    Qualifications

    What you bring to the role:

    Education

    A Master's degree is required.The successful candidate will possess a post-graduate degree in communications,advertising, marketing,

    design, business or media.

    Experience and Skills

    Industry acumen and experience is required, demonstrated ability to teach a number of coursesoffered by the college, along with specialized

    skills in the following areas: advertising, marketing communications, digital and social media, media planning, buying and selling and campaign

    planning.

    The candidate should have a minimum of 10yrs experience in the advertising and marketing communications field, either agency side or client

    side but with a direct agency relationship. You should have practical experience knowing how agencies and the agency-client relationship work,

    and how the process of marketing communications works from ideation to implementation. You will also know all aspects of what the current

    and evolving advertising and marketing communications looks like, including trends and innovations (technical and otherwise).

    It is expected that the incumbent brings practical experience gained while working in industry along with experience teaching this subject or a

    closely related one in the post-secondary environment.

  • Teaching experience with hybrid and/or online delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and support students
  • Understanding of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB)
  • Commitment to and support of equity, diversity and inclusivity in classroom
  • Previous college teaching experience and knowledge of curriculum design and student evaluations are assets
  • Demonstrated experience managing classroom dynamics
  • Ability to evaluate student progress/achievement and assume responsibility for the overall assessment of the student's work within assigned courses
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including students, faculty, support staff, administrators and community stakeholders
  • Commitment to a team approach for problem-solving and conflict resolution
  • Ability to deliver curriculum in a manner that meets the needs of diverse learners
  • Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute positively to curriculum development and delivery
