Our Petrolia, Ontario location is currently seeking a
Quality Control Specialist-Production to join the team

Scope_

As the
Quality Control Specialist-Production, you will work with the Quality Control team to ensure the quality of the product and to promote continuous improvement in the quality area.

Major Areas of Responsibility_

  • Provide support and training to production team members in the interpretation of product quality, fit and function
  • Support production team members, technical group, supervisors, etc. for quality items during new program start ups
  • Develop, apply, adhere to and improve standard operating procedures for quality, as per IATF 1694
  • Maintain quality documentation levels using the PLM system
  • Improve his/her competencies and manage the improvement of team members
  • Maintain shop floor quality documentation (inspection standards, boxing standards, check sheets, critical quality

Supplementary Activities_

  • Monitor lab testing (results) during shift
  • Look for kaizen opportunities in all areas of quality (DFFP, PPM, customer complaints, manpower usage, streamlining procedures)
  • Participate in MPE's and SOP's, understand PPAP, FMEA and JKK procedure
  • Audit all quality checks and documentation to ensure they are completed as per IATF 16949 standards
  • Prepare and transmit information relative to the function and appearance of product for new programs and pieces already in production
  • Available for business trips to the customer to ensure support and continuous followup on the quality of weatherstrips
  • Conduct layered process audits, product audits, label audits and first piece audits

Qualifications_


  • Minimum 2 years automotive manufacturing experience, or equivalent
  • Experience in Quality systems development, implementation and maintenance in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong organizational ability, time management skills and problem solving skills
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Computer skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes
  • Acceptable attendance and performance
  • Available for business trips to the customer to ensure support and continuous follow-up on quality items

Experience:
