Niagara Health is seeking an exceptional HIS Systems Administrator to be part of our Project Monarch team. As a HIS Systems Administrator, you will be involved in design and build, configuration and administration of the system. You will play role in analyzing technical issues associated with the applicable software.

The position objective is to support the implementation of a modern Hospital Information System (HIS) in 2024 that supports an efficient patient experience and a consistent approach to clinical best practices.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Guide configuration and administration of the system, test the system, and analyze technical issues associated with the applicable software
Monitor system performance and security, and make necessary updates and patches to ensure systems are running at optimal levels

  • Identify issues that arise, as well as issues that impact other teams, and work to resolve them
  • Work as part of a team, assisting other team members with tasks as needed to keep deliverables on schedule
  • Perform quality checks on your own work, and collaborate with colleagues on your team for peertopeer quality reviews as needed
  • Work with vendor representatives, NHS's community, and endusers to ensure the system meets NHS's needs in regards to the project deliverables and timeline
  • Identify and implement requested changes to the system
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to system administration processes and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Three year diploma or undergraduate degree in a health or computer related field
  • Five years' experience working in a hospital or environment relating to health care would be an asset
  • Strong understanding of software development principles, programming languages, and database management systems
  • Experience with workflow design, build, and testing
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ITIL and COBIT
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in crossfunctional teams
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proven analytical skills with an aptitude for process evaluation and problemsolving.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexible, selfdirected and able to work effectively with mínimal supervision.
  • Consistent and regular attendance required.
  • Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
  • Vaccines (COVID19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
