Description

The P&PD Technician is responsible for operating the presses.

All work must be done in a safe and efficient manner and comply with all Stackpole International's Health & Safety policies, procedures and quality systems.

Working knowledge with SPS and 5S activities is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Set up single and multi level jobs in the SMM Meen, Cincinnati, and Dorst presses, in addition to other presses.
Set up products according to process and set up sheets.
Thorough knowledge of set up procedures for the above presses.
Solid understanding of safety issues, including machine guarding, lockout procedures and safe lifting techniques.
Ability to solve problems as they occur
Attend all meetings necessary to complete job functions.
Follow all safety regulations pertaining to proper use of chemicals. Must wear all required protective safety equipment
Ensure that the requirements of the Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety Systems are met.
Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Education and/or Experience:_
High School diploma or equivalent
Qualifications:_
Compacting press experience.
Excellent problem solving and technical abilities,
Good communication skills and willingness to assist operators.
Solid understanding of safety issues, including guarding, lockout procedures and safe lifting techniques.
Ability to progress through the Setter III, II, and I over the next few years.
35 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment
Positive attitude and passion to exceed all quality and quantity specifications
Demonstrated acceptable level of safety, attendance, quality and production
Basic mathematical skills required
Good interpersonal skills. Able to work well independently or in a team environment
Ability to multitask in a fast pace environment while maintaining quality
Language Skills:_
Proficient in English (both spoken and written)
Work Environment (including Physical Demands):_
Work indoors. Environment can be noisy and dealing with different temperatures
Lifting may be required. No more than 25lbs and assistance is available if needed
Work shifts may include days, afternoons, nights or continental
Ability to stand and walk for long periods at a time
Able to work overtime when required/requested
