Description
NorZinc Ltd. is a premium mine developer specializing in high-grade zinc, lead and silver. The Company has an experienced Management team and Board along with an established site infrastructure. NorZinc is currently developing the Prairie Creek Mine in the Northwest Territories. It is headquartered in Vancouver, BC.


NorZinc is looking to hire an experienced accounting and finance professional for the position outlined below, based in either Toronto, ON or Vancouver, BC (with flexibility to work from home).


Requirements:


Responsibilities include:


  • Help carryout the direction and financial reporting responsibilities of the Company
  • Manage the various treasury requirements of the Company
  • Assist with tax matters of the Company and it's subsidiaries
  • Assist with various project finance initiatives
  • Assist with the Company's budgeting process
  • Assist with the Company's financial planning and analysis function
  • Forecasting, trending, and other internal reporting as required
  • Help lead the Company's internal audit and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Process review and development to align the Company with proven best practices
  • Policy review and development as the Company grows through its stages
  • Track and compile key metrics and analysis of the Company's peer group
  • Assist with payroll as needed
  • Assist with the Company's quarterly financials and YE Audit as a key liaison
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Review and or prepare various WP files
  • Oversee month end close process
  • Help lead quarter end and year end audit requirements
  • Research and implementation of new accounting policies
  • Prepare financial statements
  • Assist with Board packages

Qualifications & Experience:


  • Chartered Professional Accountant designation
  • Ten (10) years accounting experience
  • Five (5) years mining experience
  • Public Company financial statement preparation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong computer aptitude; experience within a mining ERP is an asset
  • Highly organized with a passion for detail
  • Excellent verbal, written and listening skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and support all levels of the organization
  • Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada
