Regional Lab Manager

Pylon Electronics Inc. is seeking an individual with skills and qualifications to fill a full-time position as a Regional Lab Manager in our Ottawa
- facility. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Operations with in-direct reporting duties to other members of the Senior Leadership Team as outlined in the Facility Organization Chart.

is an ISO 17025 certified calibration facility supporting both electronic and physical test equipment and is one of the largest Canadian Owned Calibration Laboratories.

Pylon Electronics has a solid reputation in the repair and calibration of measuring instruments. We have six laboratories which are located in Ottawa, Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary, Richmond, and Dartmouth. Our Technical Sales office is located in Montreal.


Responsibilities

  • Managing day to day operations of both technical and administrative areas of Pylon's business which may include but not limited
  • Successful operation of calibration labs including effective management of Turn Around Times (TAT) and all other related customer needs such as Customer Support (including involvement in DND Customer Management), Communication, Scheduling and logistics, and Program/Asset Management
  • Ensuring customer retention, promoting and tracking sales and profitability according to budget
  • Accounting and Human Resource requirements as needed
  • Supporting and executing the operational processes for effective management of personnel, resources, and equipment for high quality calibrations
  • Supporting the provision of timely technical training and personnel development
  • Final approval of all leave/bank hours for facility personnel and timecard signoff
  • Regular evaluation of directreports performance
  • Addressing Quality Issues at the facility
  • Interfacing with other Pylon facilities for technical support and other operational needs
  • Supporting all aspects of Pylon's Strategic Direction as outlined by the President of Pylon
  • Other specific tasks as directed by the Senior Manager of Operations.

Skills

  • At least 5 years' experience in Managerial position
  • Experience managing a team of greater than 20 employees
  • A degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering
  • Strong computer knowledge including advance use of the Microsoft Office
  • Experience in Calibration environment
  • Ability to work independently and attentive to details
  • Have strong Project Management skills
  • Experience dealing directly with clients
  • QA experience will be an asset for this position
  • Budgeting and Finance experience also an asset for this position

Salary
Pay will be based on skills and experience.
