Description
We are looking for a driven and motivated Lead Planner/Scheduler for our Vancouver office.

As a key member of our Vancouver based program/project support team, you will lead and provide guidance on all aspects of the program/project planning and scheduling scope.

As the Lead Planner/Scheduler, your main tasks will include:

  • Lead and provide guidance to the planning/scheduling team in developing engineering/construction schedules for projects within a program, which are updated as the design progresses
  • Lead and provide guidance to the planning/scheduling team in developing and establishing Work Breakdown Structures and Baseline Schedules
  • Lead and provide guidance to the planning/scheduling team in reviewing designers and contractors baseline schedules, monthly updates and earned value reports
  • Lead the development of an Integrated Master Program/Project Schedule
  • The Integrated Master Program/Project Schedule will summarize all the required elements for the engineering, procurement, and construction of the projects within the program, and identify key project interfaces, deliverables, program, and project milestones
  • Lead and provide guidance to the planning/scheduling team on whatif schedule analysis, and present the results to the program/project management team
  • Provide guidance in the review of construction contractor schedules, monitoring of progress against planned completion and contract milestones
  • Support critical activities such as Value Engineering (VE) studies, Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA), and claims (time entitlement analysis)
  • Coordinate and communicate across large multidisciplinary, multistakeholder project teams
  • Lead and provide guidance to the planning/scheduling team on the implementation of best practices for schedule and schedule integration
  • Lead and provide guidance to the planning/scheduling team to provide all the schedule reporting as required, such as the monthly report, the 3 and 6week lookahead and critical items list
  • Provide oversight to ensure consistency of projectlevel schedule implementation across program
  • Resolve any issues raised by the planning/scheduling team
  • Identify opportunities for improvements
  • Mentor and coach other members of the planning/scheduling team
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive experience in planning/scheduling of major projects in the transportation / infrastructure sector, with increasing responsibility
  • Experience working on large transit rail projects preferred
  • Experience working on large construction projects will also be considered
  • Experience with various procurement models, i.e., AFP/P3, DB or DBB projects
  • Excellent leadership and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and ability to liaise with client, contractor, and team
  • Ability to develop schedule / cost analysis presentations (graphic, written and verbal)
  • Confident and able to provide presentation to senior management
  • Advance level skills with Primavera P6 scheduling software
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience with TILOS linear scheduling software
  • Experience with Acumen Fuse
  • Proficient with MS Project and Visio
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related field
  • Relevant certification with either AACE International or the Project Management Institute
