Join our team for a fun season of events with Marigolds & Onions CateringWe're looking to build a roster of Event Chef Supervisors to work with our team at various events across the GTA.


JOB DESCRIPTION:


As an
EVENT
CHEF SUPERVISOR,you will be overseeing the team that is responsible for preparing and cooking food to ensure the highest quality service and experience for event guests.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Maintains a neat and organized work area.
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensuring that cooking utensils are clean before each use.
  • Ensuring that food health and safety regulations are followed.
  • Ensure that food production timing follows event itineraries.
  • Plans and directs the activities related to the preparation and the cooking of the menu.
  • Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food.
  • Supervise activities of specialist chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers.
  • Ensuring that food portions and food presentation meet company standards as outlined on the Product Specs.
  • Ensures the maintenance of a good work environment.
  • Ensures and exemplifies great teamwork and communication with frontofhouse and backofhouse

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Food handlers certification is an asset
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Minimum of 510 years experience working as a Chef Supervisor in events or catering
  • Experience managing a team
  • Punctual and reliable attendance at all scheduled shifts.
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, and professional at all times while working.
  • Knowledgeable in food allergies and/or restrictions
  • Ability to remain levelheaded and work well under pressure.
  • Able to work flexible hours.
  • Able to expedite food service efficiently
  • Able to problem solve and adapt in different situations and environments

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Most events will require you to pickup and deliver food/equipment from our shop to the event space.

  • Day shift
  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning shift
  • Weekends as needed

Experience:

Chef Supervisor: 5 years (required)


Licence/Certification:

  • Food Handler Certification (required)
