    What is the opportunity?

    RBC Dominion Securities is currently seeking a dynamic Business Development Assistant. You will be a people person who loves social interactions and building relationships. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in the wealth management industry with a top-performing team. This opportunity is a six-month contract with 25 to 35 hours of work per week.

    What will you do?

    • Cold-call potential clients to book financial reviews with an Investment Advisor
    • Assist in retrieving key documents
    • Assist with the proposal development process
    • Develop and nurture the business opportunity leads and the sales pipeline through cold-calls, follow-up calls, and emails
    • Provide the Investment Advisor with regular updates regarding client leads
    • Assist with the advisory team's social media prospecting strategy, marketing initiatives, and adding leads to the newsletter database

    What do you need to succeed?
    Must-have

    • Ability to make proactive phone calls to introduce new services
    • Bilingualism (English and French) required in order to serve clients in the community with English speaking needs
    • Motivation to achieve goals while working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills
    • Self-confidence and demonstrated ability to influence outcomes in conversations
    • Ability to handle rejection and stay positive
    • Ability to work independently
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work

    Nice-to-have

    • Experience communicating with clients by phone in a contact/call centre
    • Sales experience
    • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and the Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH)
    • University degree
    • Understanding of entrepreneurs and business owners
