Job Summary:

The Estimator is responsible for maintaining a proper balance between the profitability of the company and the achievement of total customer satisfaction.

The Estimator works with Customer Service Representatives and other team members to prepare cost estimates for all of the company business.

The Estimator must understand the customer requirements and the cost of meeting those requirements within the company capabilities.
Customer Service/ Estimating

  • Prepare estimates for all production jobs based on customer specifications as received from clientele, Customer Service Representatives, and Estimating Supervisor.
  • Price all production work using proven standards and company's standards. Estimate nonstandard work in conjunction with the Estimating Supervisor.
  • Assist and advise Customer Service Representatives on options for improving quality while lowering prices of jobs for presentation to customers.
  • Process customer requests for quotes in a courteous, efficient and timely manner.
  • Organize workflow to meet customer deadlines.
  • Effectively present and discuss the products and services of the company.
  • Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for a project.
  • Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Manage telephone calls professionally, efficiently and with good communication skills.
  • Attend customer complaints and concerns immediately, and facilitate satisfactory resolution.
  • Engage with external vendors for quote requests for services when required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • University/College degree in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledgeable of cost accounting, printing processes and supplies, and purchasing methods.
  • Experience in sales and/or customer service.
  • Familiarity with printing operations is an asset.
  • Excellent command of the English language in both written and oral forms.
  • Excellent math skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills e.g. working well with others, communication, positive attitude.
  • Ability to understand customers' needs and requirements and relate to production processes.
  • Strong attention to detail, possessing a sales aptitude and interested in preventing errors and solving problems.
  • Must be computer literate and current on new technology.
  • Must be hard working, a selfstarter and a problem solver.
  • Demonstrated excellence in organization and time management skills.
  • Able to perform multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Exceptional phone and customer service skills, positive and upbeat attitude.
  • Meet or exceed minimum test results as specified by the hiring manager.
