What you'll do

  • Support the Joint Use Governance Co-Chairs on technical and operations issues/escalations between BC Hydro and
TELUS. Includes supporting determination of agenda items and priorities.

  • Develop and maintain strong overall relations and trust with counterparts at TELUS in context of each organizations
priorities and interests do not always align.

  • Support priorities and metrics of Joint Use Office.
  • Support developing IT vision and priorities related to Joint Use Administration System or other interfaces between the
two organizations.

  • Assist in the development of team objectives and performance measurements; and assist in managing the technical and
operational performance of the team to meet these objectives.

  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen working relationships with internal departments such as Distribution Asset Planning,
Distribution Design, Distribution Engineering, Line Field Operations, Properties, and Legal.

  • Support and lead business process improvements including change management, process mapping, continual
improvement of processes impacting multiple internal and external groups.

  • Support the adherence to the relevant terms of Joint Ownership and Use Agreement and related business practices.
  • Investigates and analyses unusual problems, evaluates risks and applies innovative solutions.
  • Seeks new and unique technology, processes and products that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of joint
ownership of distribution poles

What you bring

  • Bachelor degree or diploma in a relevant discipline such as engineering or commerce.
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive utility experience.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, including strong interpersonal, business writing, presentation, negotiating, and
customer service skills.

  • Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and problemsolving skills.
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of the Joint Ownership and Use Agreement will be an asset
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of Passport, DAD, SAM, SAP, and JUAS will be an asset.
  • Experience working on projects with and for large customers will be an asset.
