Position Title:
HR Generalist


Reports to:
HR Business Partner


Job Purpose:


The HR Generalist will play a pivotal role in various HR functions, reporting to the HR Business Partner to drive success in human resources initiatives and overall organizational growth.

This role will provide a great deal of opportunity for learning and professional growth. Role responsibilities will increase in scope, congruent with learning


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand their recruitment needs and develop effective sourcing strategies for both bluecollar and professional positions.
  • Support all human resources related action changes including new hires, promotions, transfers, terminations, ensuring a high degree of accuracy and according to established deadlines.
  • Assist in the termination process, including manager and employee discussions, performing exit interviews, completing necessary documentation, and analyzing termination data.
  • Maintain employee files and records in ADP
  • Assist in employee onboarding program management and conduct the onboarding training
  • Responding to employee inquiries about benefits, vacation, and other employment related issues
  • Contribute to performance management processes, including performance evaluations and performance improvement plans
  • Stay updated on HR laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure HR compliance across the organization.
  • Handle ad hoc duties as required by the role to support HR operations and address evolving organizational needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an HR Generalist, 3 years of experience would be preferred
  • Be proactive and forward planning, with the ability to work autonomously
  • Experience in Supply Chain and/or Freight Forwarding would be as asset
  • Strong employee relations experience, demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate and engage with diverse employee groups.
  • Uphold a strict level of confidentiality
  • Proficiency in using ADP Workforce Now will be considered an asset
  • Demonstrable experience with HR Metrics, including tracking and analyzing data for different types of employees.
  • Familiarity with various sourcing techniques and recruitment platforms catering to different skill levels.
  • CHRP certification or working towards it is preferred
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Advance Microsoft Office skills
  • A proactive and resultoriented approach to drive successful recruitment and HR outcomes for all employee categories.
