Our team is in search of an Associate (3-5 year call) to join our Business and Economic Development practice group.

Role Overview:

The position is full-time and based in Victoria, BC. Our lawyers are sometimes required to travel to Indigenous communities throughout Canada.


Qualifications:


  • A lawyer of a 35year call.
  • Experience with Indigenous communities will be an asset.
  • Strong research, legal drafting, and analytical skills are a must.
  • Experience communicating complex legal concepts and demonstrated experience in Aboriginal, Constitutional and Corporate/Commercial, including familiarity with impact benefit agreements.
  • Flexibility to travel and work in Indigenous communities is a necessary condition of employment with a valid driver's license required as some of the work will be in remote areas that are not otherwise accessible.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Selfmotivated interest to contribute and expand in our areas of practice which include Lands and Governance, Section 35, Business and Economic Development, and Northern practice groups.

This position is intended to support ongoing files within multiple jurisdictions and/or locations. Woodward offers flexibility with a hybrid work model.
