Position Description:

Working with the Trauma Program, the
Data Analyst will accurately maintain, validate, and analyze all trauma related data. This would include data entry, management, and reporting within the multiple data systems related to the Trauma Program.

The Data Analyst must ensure accuracy of the data sent by providers, extract data, produce reports, and participate in creating more efficient processes and program enhancements.


Here's What You'll Get To Do

  • Perform Trauma registry data entry ensuring data is entered according to strict guidelines and definitions.
  • Validating and submission of data to a National holding.
  • Provide education and follow up with medical staff and multidisciplinary teams related to trauma data.
  • Ensure the registry is maintained with updates and relevant changes.
  • Maintenance of a daily log related to pediatric trauma cases, and validation of these cases in collaboration with the trauma coordinator to ensure patient data can be gathered and tracked efficiently.
  • Submission of required reports to CCSO (Critical Care Services Ontario).
  • Preparation of reports for internal requirements and as requested for mtgs, presentation, analysis.
  • Respond and assist with Sickkids staff for research or QI data requests.
  • Participate in research with outside groups by providing data and/or working with the team to determine which data is most appropriate.
  • Participate with analysts at other Trauma Centres to develop/maintain/improve the data system for trauma patients.
  • Submit data to the new TQIP (Trauma Quality Improvement Program) at Sickkids, review/analyze reports, and work with the team to respond to outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with the Trauma Program, to review trauma trends, analysis, and reporting needs.
  • Participates on hospital/departmental committees as required.
  • Demonstrates commitment to continuing education activities and lifelong learning as it relates to ongoing professional development.
  • Participates in and supports Program and hospital based initiatives.

Here's What You'll Need

  • Undergraduate degree in information technology, health information management, mathematics, statistics, engineering, health sciences or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years related experience in a hospital or clinical setting. Trauma Program experience an asset.
  • Proficient with various computer systems and data analysis tools.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Member of the Canadian Health Information Management Association preferred.

Employment Type:
Permanent Full-Time (35 hours/week)
