SUMMARY:

Reports to and works under the direction of the School Principal or his/her designate. Provides supervision of students inside school facilities and on the school campus during lunch periods.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of Grade 10 education or equivalent combination of education and experience. Up to 3 months experience dealing effectively with elementary school aged children.

Knowledge of basic First Aid.

Ability to communicate effectively with administration, staff, and students. Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to use good judgement when confronted with difficult situations and when providing information.

Knowledge of school behavioural rules, guidelines, and procedures for effective enforcement is an asset. Physically capable of performing the duties of the position.

Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Willingness to participate in workshops designed to provide assistance in various approaches to handling behaviour problems/conflict resolution.

Knowledge of WCB and WHMIS regulations. Safe work practices.

Some positions may require the knowledge of a language other than English.
