Job Description:


  • Summary
The Country Manager Canada oversees the Mallinckrodt Canadian business, which is essential to the future growth of Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals.

This leadership position has accountability for the Sales and Profitability of the business including responsibility for the teams in Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Technical Service, Supply chain and Logistics.

This position is expected to lead marketing and sales strategies to ensure the ongoing commercial success of the Canadian business.

As a leader of this business, responsibility includes oversight of a highly skilled and dynamic team that is responsible for delivering against key objectives that generate sustained and growing revenue while creating customer loyalty.

In addition, this position will assess, build, and direct the overall portfolio for existing and future products.

  • Essential Functions
  • Develops and implements the strategies for marketing and sales of the branded products within the Canada business.
  • Sets goals and metrics for the Canadian teams aligned with enterprise strategies.
  • Responsible for the achievement of business goals to maintain and profitably grow sustainable core businesses.
  • Ensures the development and implementation of the overall marketing and sales strategy focusing on competitive positioning and product portfolio development.
  • Sets the direction and oversees the plans and initiatives to ensure the successful launch of new products.
  • Responsible for the establishment of final sales and budget targets each fiscal year and ensuring all sales and marketing activities meet or exceed financial targets.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders on pricing strategy and accounts within the Canadian market to obtain, maintain, and expand the utilization of Branded products.
  • Works in partnership with key support teams in the development and implementation of performance analytics and reporting, critical success metrics, forecasting, maximizing territory alignments and sales incentive compensation plans.
  • Oversees the submission and adherence of marketing and sales budgets through effective, costconscious efforts and provides appropriate guidance to leaders.
  • Works in partnership with the Market Access team to develop strategies to provide significant access into the managed health care process for both existing and new products, focusing on key health care providers across Canada and government providers.
  • Works in collaboration with the Commercial Excellence organization to ensure that the tools, systems, processes, and training are in place to effectively support the sales force and superbly execute on key initiatives.
  • Ensure full compliance with all local regulatory and legal guidelines as well as adherence to all corporate policies.
  • Provides the leadership and guidance in alignment with the company's behavioral hallmarks to create a high performing organization

  • Minimum Requirements

Education / Experience / Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree required, M.A. / MBA in Business preferred
  • 15+ years industry experience, 10 years in leadership roles
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Demonstrated track record in meeting business objectives
  • Track record in development of a Canadian KOL relationship network, creating awareness and drive clinical adoption of a new therapy in Canada
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn how to bring novel lifesaving therapies to Canada
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Selfstarter with the ability to leverage a matrix environment to meet the needs of the Canadian market
  • Highly energetic individual who welcomes accountability, a solid work ethic, and a commitment to quality
  • Ability to effectively translate overall strategies into actionable operational plans and assure implementation
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to influence key decision makers
