Please note that there are 2 contract positions available; 1 for a 6-month period and 1 for up to a 12-month period

Purpose:


Ancillary Services provides a wide range of professionally managed campus services and amenities to enhance the student experience and support York University's mission, vision and priorities.

With a commitment to sustainability, equity, diversity and inclusion, Ancillary Services works with internal and external partners to provide exceptional experiences and enhance the quality of campus life in alignment with the University's core values.

Acts as an agent of the University, by enforcing York University and municipal Parking and Traffic Regulations at York University.


Education:

High school diploma. Must obtain certification and maintain status as a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer prior to completion of Probationary period. Must hold a valid Ontario driver's license (Class ?G') in good standing. Provision of clean driver's record required.

  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Excellent public relations skills with the ability to be diplomatic, tactful, patient and courteous
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written communication skills)
  • Effective listening, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work with hand held ticket writer devices and the ability to write legible reports
  • Respects diversity and promotes inclusion in the workplace, contributes to an inclusive and diverse teambased, positive work environment.
  • Recognizes diversity of abilities and adapt content, tone, medium, and style to audience to be inclusive.
  • Committed to continuous learning and skill building in diversity, inclusive and cultural competence.

  • Constant walking and carrying up to 10 pounds
