POSITION OVERVIEW:


Come join our Police Services team in a role where you'll play a vital part in maintaining accurate information within the Police Records Information Management Environment (PRIME) Master Name Index.

As part of this role, you'll dive into the world of record verification and maintenance.

Your responsibilities will include reviewing and verifying entity information in the system, ensuring its accuracy, and updating records as necessary.

You'll also handle telephone inquiries with a friendly and helpful attitude, providing excellent service to our community.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:


Completion of Grade 12, including or supplemented by commercial and typing and PRIME computer terminal operator's courses plus sound related experience, preferably in the Police Department, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Sound knowledge of the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures governing the work performed.


Sound knowledge of methods, practices and procedures used in operating PRIME equipment; and of the OSR and URS code system.

Sound knowledge of clerical and record keeping methods and procedures and of business English, spelling, and arithmetic.


Working knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada and other applicable Federal and Provincial statutes enforced by the RCMP as related to the work performed.

Ability to read occurrence files to determine circumstances and nature of occurrence and determine appropriate record keeping procedures.

Ability to review file documents and police databases and to make corrections as required.

Ability to process operational and clerical assignments accurately and rapidly.

Ability to operate PRIME computer equipment.

Ability to prepare, process and maintain a variety of materials such as files, records and reports.


Ability to provide factual information regarding file content to a variety of internal and external contacts in accordance with departmental policy.


Ability to maintain effective working relationships and to deal effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts in matters applicable to the work.

Skill in the operation of equipment used in the work.


LICENSES & CERTIFICATES:


Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance.

HOURS OF WORK:


As per the Collective Agreement Schedule B Note M, positions based on Article 13.01 which may, at the discretion of the Commanding Officer of the R.C.M.P.

or the Commanding Officer's duly appointed representative, work any seven (7) hours.
between the hours of 7:00 a.m. (6:00 a.m. effective only to new incumbents to the classification appointed following 2014 June 16 or by mutual agreement for incumbents at 2014 June 16) and 12:00 midnight, Monday to Sunday, inclusive, with shift differential as per Article When shifts are changed, or positions hired, employees in the positions will be given shift preference on the basis of seniority.
