Position Summary
Our team is hiring a regulatory coordinator to support our growing company based out of our Grande Prairie office. You will be responsible for coordinating projects, writing reports, and completing fieldwork.

The position is a mix of approximately 50% fieldwork and 50% office work, with the majority of fieldwork occurring within 200km of Grande Prairie.

This is an intermediate to senior position that will help our team continue to grow and serve our existing clients.

We're looking for a self-starter who can manage their time effectively.

This role requires drive and a sense of accountability, since your day-to-day working environment can vary with multiple tasks, and changing priorities as new jobs with differing urgencies come in.


Responsibilities

  • The position is a mix of field and office work.
  • The majority of the work is Monday to Friday 85, with occasional weekends and some overtime required.
  • Our work involves 3 main areas, and the position will likely have a focus on the regulatory advising and planning area, with the opportunity to work with specialists in the other areas, and the ability to train and become proficient in different tasks.
○ Regulatory Advising and Planning:

■ Reviewing proposed site locations and surveys with an understanding of the Master Schedule of Standards and Conditions document requirements

■ Route selection and scouting for pipelines, roads and wellsites.

■ First Nations Consultation

■ Wildlife Sweeps

■ Acting as a liaison with AEP, AER and other regulatory bodies.

○ Wetlands and Watercourse Assessments

■ Completing QAES assessments and reports

■ Completing ABWRET-As, ABWRET-Ds, WAIFs and WAIRs

■ Wetland Reclamation and Restoration Planning and Reporting

■ DFO Notifications and Request for Review

■ Code of Practice Notifications

■ Turbidity Monitoring

■ Crossing Isolation Management and Fish Salvage

■ Culvert Inspections and Bridge Replacement Monitoring

○ Remediation and Reclamation

■ Phase I and II ESAs

■ Spill Management

■ Remediation Planning, Supervision and Reporting

■ Reclamation Planning and Supervision

■ Completing DSAs

■ Sump Suitability and Sump Sampling for HDD

■ Groundwater Monitoring

  • Work efficiently with other team members, and conduct yourself professionally in correspondence with clients.
  • Complete reports and deliverables in a timely manner
  • Job can be physically demanding

Qualifications

  • Four+ years prior experience in regulatory advising/planning
  • Proficency with MS Office Suite, QGIS and/or ArcGIS
  • Excellent report writing skills, and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of soils and vegetation in the Peace region an asset
  • A degree or diploma in environmental sciences or related discipline is a benefit, but not required
  • Safety tickets including H2S, First Aid, Ground Disturbance, ATV, and Bear Aware
  • Experience operating ATVs and sleds
  • Clean Driver's Abstract with experience driving industry roads

Hours & Compensation

  • Fulltime position with salary and benefits based on previous experience.
  • A personal four wheel drive truck (quad, sled) can also be used and compensated if available, but not required.
